The Benefits of Rhinoplasty Are Greater Than the Costs

If you are unhappy with the shape, size, or bridge of your nose, you have probably considered rhinoplasty because of the life-changing results the procedure offers with only minor modifications to your facial features. However, surgery can be expensive. You might be concerned that the rhinoplasty cost will disqualify you from getting the surgery.

Dr. Dustin Heringer is a highly trained oculofacial plastic and cosmetic surgeon who can walk you through the costs involved during your initial consultation. For your convenience, we conduct consultations at our three practice locations in Scottsdale, AZ, Peoria, and Phoenix.

Pie chart of factors affecting cost of rhinoplasty

The cost of your surgery will depend significantly on four factors: your surgeon's experience, the type of sedation, the type of surgery, and any other procedures it is combined with.

Factors that Determine Cost

There are a number of factors that contribute to the final cost of your rhinoplasty, including:

The Surgeon

Your surgeon's experience and skill play an important role in cost. Because rhinoplasty is a very complex surgery that requires advanced skill and an artistic approach, choosing a highly qualified surgeon is essential if you want to ensure the best possible outcomes. While you could pay less to undergo rhinoplasty in another country or at a low-cost surgical center, the lower cost often translates to a less qualified surgeon. Often, they will not have the same qualifications and training that Dr. Heringer offers.

In addition to his training in ophthalmology and general surgery, Dr. Heringer has also completed two separate fellowships in both plastic and cosmetic surgery. During his cosmetic surgery training at Tulsa Surgical Arts, he completed over 1,000 cosmetic surgeries. He is also dedicated to providing personalized care for his patients and uses artful techniques to minimize scarring and create the best patient experience.

Type of Sedation

Dr. Heringer performs rhinoplasty under intravenous (IV) sedation or general anesthesia. Typically, the surgical costs to administer general anesthesia are higher because the patient must be carefully monitored for a longer period of time.

Open vs. Closed

While closed rhinoplasty is a more conservative way to perform nasal surgery, open rhinoplasty is usually a longer and more complex surgery. Therefore, the cost of an open rhinoplasty is typically higher than that of a closed procedure.

Combining with Other Procedures

In many cases, your nose might look different because of how another part of the face looks. For example, an under-pronounced chin might leave your nose looking larger. If this is the case, you can choose to further accentuate your features and achieve the results you want by combining your rhinoplasty with a chin augmentation. However, undergoing multiple procedures is naturally more expensive.

Rhinoplasty can provide drastic, life-changing results with only minimal surgical alterations, so the benefits can far outweigh the costs.

Remember, cost is an important part of your decision, but it should not be the only factor you consider. Dr. Heringer and his team will always recommend the techniques and approach that will ensure the safest, most natural-looking, and transformative results.

The Benefits Outweigh the Costs

Rhinoplasty is a very rewarding procedure for patients. It provides benefits such as:

  • More balanced, symmetrical features
  • Natural-looking results
  • Boosted confidence
  • Improved breathing

Rhinoplasty can provide drastic, life-changing results with only minimal surgical alterations, so the benefits can far outweigh the costs.
