Mini Face Lift Q&A

What is a mini face-lift?

A mini face-lift may be an excellent procedure for you if you have minimal or no excess skin on your neck and jowls, but you want to rejuvenate your appearance.

A mini face-lift is less invasive than a traditional face-lift, and it aims at lifting wrinkles and sagging skin in the lower part of your face.

Since Dr. Heringer makes very tiny incisions around your ear during mini face-lift surgery — an outpatient procedure — scarring is minimal, and recovery time is typically shorter than with a full face-lift.

Am I a good candidate for a mini face-lift?

If you desire natural-looking results from a face-lift procedure and you have sufficient elasticity in your skin, you may be a good candidate for a mini face-lift.

Most often, men and women who opt for a mini face-lift are in their 40s and 50s, or even younger, and want to address the early signs of aging. Additionally, if you have any of the following concerns, a mini face-lift may be the perfect solution:

  • Moderate jowls
  • Moderate nasolabial (nose) folds
  • Loosening neck skin
  • Desire a more sculpted jawline
  • Moderate lost facial volume
  • Desire for reduced downtime

Based on your individual needs, skin condition, and lifestyle, Dr. Heringer may recommend several options to help you look and feel your best at any age.

What is the recovery like after a mini face-lift?

Because a mini face-lift is a less invasive procedure than a traditional face-lift, healing time is usually shorter, especially if you’re in good overall health and you’re a nonsmoker.

You can still expect some downtime and plan to take about 10 days off from work, so you can allow time for swelling and bruising to subside.

Dr. Heringer provides you with detailed instructions on how to minimize side effects like pain, redness, and skin sensitivity.

He also schedules a follow-up visit, so he can check your progress. Once you’ve had time to heal, he recommends when it’s OK to return to your normal activities.

If a mini face-lift sounds like something that could work for your anti-aging goals and busy lifestyle, call the office to schedule a consultation, or book an appointment online.
