Reconstructive Surgery Can PROVIDE LIFE-CHANGING BENEFITS

Protect Your Health

Some of these surgical procedures, such as enucleation and orbital decompression, are necessary to protect your ocular health. Receiving timely treatment can reduce your risk of serious health complications. As a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Heringer is trained in the latest techniques.

Restore Proper Function

Certain conditions can impair your vision, eye movement, and other abilities. Reconstructive surgery can improve or restore these abilities.

Improve Your Appearance

Scarring from skin cancer removal, eye irregularities, and damage to your facial structure can alter your appearance. Dr. Heringer is a skilled plastic surgeon who uses artistic surgical techniques to achieve the most natural-looking results and enhance your appearance.

Better Quality of Life

Facial deformities such as cleft lip can significantly affect your self-esteem. By addressing the adverse effects of your condition, you can overcome the challenges and insecurities it has caused you. As such, many patients enjoy a better overall quality of life after their reconstructive surgery.

Reconstructive procedures can address many issues...

We Can Treat:

Ptosis (Eyelid Drooping)

Eyelid Malposition

Thyroid Eye Disease

Cancer or Mole Scarring

Orbital Trauma

Excess Tearing

Severe Eye Tumor

Eyelid Twitching

Shrunken Blind Eyes

Ptosis Repairs

Ptosis can cause your eyelid to droop, affecting your appearance and sometimes obstructing vision. To correct the appearance and position of the eyelid, Dr. Heringer lifts and tightens the muscles that govern eyelid movement while preserving natural function and achieving excellent cosmetic results.

Eyelid Malposition

Types of eyelid malposition include entropion (inward turning eyelids), ectropion (outward turning eyelids), dermatochalasis (hooded eyelids), and retraction. These conditions can affect your appearance, cause irritation, and increase the risk of infection. Treatment is similar to that of ptosis.

Orbital Decompression for Thyroid Eye Disease

Thyroid eye disease occurs when your immune system begins attacking the tissues around your eyes. Symptoms often include bulging eyes and restricted movement. Orbital decompression surgery removes a small amount of the surrounding bone, returning the eye to a comfortable and normal-looking position.

Face and Eyelid Reconstruction

If you have noticeable scarring on your face or eyelids following the removal of cancer or moles, Dr. Heringer can use skin grafting and flap techniques to artfully reposition the skin. By using your own tissues to reduce the appearance of scars, he can achieve effective and attractive results.

“Wonderful and articulate! Saw him for skin cancer related surgery. Highly recommend him, a true professional.”

SATISFIED PATIENT

Orbital Trauma

When the orbital bones around the eye fracture, often due to a fall or heavy blow, they can sometimes heal on their own. However, if the break is severe, it can cause pain, reduced eye movement, and even impaired brain function. Our surgeons can perform reconstructive surgery to repair the fracture.

Tear Duct Surgery

If you suffer from excess tearing, you may have a blocked tear duct. Surgery of the tear duct is often the most effective treatment for this condition with a high success rate and providing lifelong results. He will create a small incision just above or inside your nose and place a stent to create a new tear duct.

Enucleation (Eye Removal)

If you have suffered a serious eye injury, an ocular tumor, or a blindness that is causing pain, you may require enucleation. Our compassionate surgeons understand the gravity of this procedure, will answer your questions, and provide completely personalized, skillfully performed the treatment.

Blepharospasm

BOTOX® Medical may bring relief from chronic eyelid twitching and other facial spasms. The small amount of botulinum toxin blocks nerve impulses that cause spasms. Dr. Heringer will determine the right muscles to target for safe routine injections. Your results can last up to three months.
